Enter your SS-31 (Elamipretide) vial size and the volume of bacteriostatic water you are adding. The calculator returns the concentration in mcg/ml and the exact units to draw on a U-100 insulin syringe. It works for the common 10mg and 50mg vials.

How this is calculated
50mg × 1,000 = 50000 mcg total
50000 ÷ 5ml = 10000 mcg/ml
10000 mcg ÷ 10000 = 1 ml
1 ml × 100 = 100 units

SS-31 is a mitochondria-targeted peptide researched for cellular energy and recovery, dosed by subcutaneous injection. Reported research doses vary, so calculate your concentration and units from your own vial rather than assuming a standard amount.
Ranges reported in research use vary considerably. Clinical elamipretide studies have used higher subcutaneous doses; always calculate from your own vial and dose.
| Lower daily dose | 5 mg (5,000 mcg) once daily |
| Higher daily dose | 10 mg (10,000 mcg) once daily |
Worked example: 50mg vial + 5ml BAC water, 10mg dose
5ml gives 10,000 mcg/ml, so a 10mg dose is exactly 1ml = 100 units. If you dose lower, a 10mg vial in 2ml gives 5,000 mcg/ml and a 5mg dose becomes 1ml = 100 units.
With a 50mg vial reconstituted in 5ml (10,000 mcg/ml): 10,000 ÷ 10,000 = 1.0ml = 100 units. Enter your own vial size and water volume above to match your dose.
SS-31 is also referred to as elamipretide (and by the research code MTP-131). It is a mitochondria-targeted peptide; the reconstitution calculation is the same whichever name your vial uses.
Refrigerate at 2–8°C away from light and label the vial with the date. Reconstituted SS-31 is commonly used within 2–4 weeks. Do not freeze it.
Store your vial concentration, log every dose against it, and never lose track of what you injected or when.
